A Shift In Awareness

                                                              A Shift In Awareness

When I cross my heart and hope to die
The sense of eternity is oceanic
In her golden face returned to me
Until the dying truth is re-resurrected
                                                   Religious energy is misdirected
With one foot on the dash
                                                           And one on the wheel
                                                            Just going by feel
                                                            Bending the earth into service
                                                             Civilizations discontent to unnerve us
                                                             Humanity is saved by guilt
Misdrawn boundaries bled from your Crucifixion
Suffering from the fear of misapprehension
                                                             Ego screams extreme with sensations
The mother’s breast responds with contemplation
Drinking from the pool of unfairness
The last smile before a shift in awareness

Every Piece I Had

Summer highways wave their souls
Still lingering to play that sweet sad song
How did shit go so wrong?
Will the next fear be better than before
On the streets of Hollywood looking for one more
You came to me that day
I was feeding on my own decay
In the forest of streets I can hear the drumbeats
Pushing humanity’s atrocities
Down into dark philosophies
Of infinite pain
Hanging from a hope on a utopic rope
In an acid rain

When a wasted sacrifice would suffice
To break the ice
So I could ask his advice
I had to work off what a
Beggar man begs
To fall away into a strange bed
And give her every piece I had

EYE SMILE

Needle Eye Smile

Snakes are your voice

Broken dreams came walking on dark cold streets of remorse

You want to let it in

Beautiful darkness delusion of sin

One eye closes the other one cries

As life moves through its paces

And the movement becomes the enemy

The crazy man moves on

Sitting with shattered dreams as time slips into future

Like the old lady that gives you the finger

I swam to meet her with my heart spitting rounds
